At SILVERcare, We understand the unique and challenging task of caring for a patient with severe dementia or Alzheimer’s. Our staff can assist with in-home support and respite care, and provide hands-on personal care and assistance to these delicate and, often difficult, patients.

Trained with enhanced skills, our caregivers understand the conditions of dementia and Alzheimer’s, and know how to promote their well-being using proper methods, including:

• How to provide nutrition and hydration
• How to promote physical and mental activities
• Provide safety and avoid danger in the home and in moving about
• Effectively provide personal care and grooming to those who may
be resistant to assistance and in an agitated state
• Assessment of behavior deviations and approaches to prevent or deal with
such behavior
• Maintain body functions as long as possible (self toileting, bathing, etc)
• How to effectively communicate with patients who cannot communicate.
• How to assist and teach family members to be part of the team of caregivers to
assist the patient to reach and maintain their highest level of functioning and quality of life, while enabling the patient to remain in the security of the home environment as long as possible

At SILVERcare, we understand the uniqueness required for these types of clients and we are focused on helping the family cope with the stress and strain of the necessary care. Contact us for help provided by assistants trained in special procedures and techniques for these patients.
